ROSENCRANTZ & GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD POSTER PROJECT

In 2003 I was asked to make a series of posters for the production of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. In addition to promotional use, the posters were displayed in the lobby of the theatre during the run of the show.

When the audience entered the theatre space, they were given a playbill in the form of a letter. The letter unfolded into an oversized, non-linear program, reminiscent of a tourist map. Like the characters of the play, once the audience members broke the seal of the letter, they found themselves twisting and turning to try to understand which way is up. Thus, reading the programs, the audience members looked like lost travelers.
